Here are some important events to keep note of this week in Cy-Fair.

Two Cy-Fair ISD football teams advance to regional finals

A football team from Cy-Fair ISD is guaranteed to make it to the state semifinals this year. Both Cy-Fair and Langham Creek high schools won their regional semi-final playoff games that took place this weekend and will square off against each other in the regional finals. The game takes place Dec. 9 at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium, 8877 Barker Cypress Road, Cypress. The winner will claim the Region III title and will advance to the state semifinals.

Dec. 6: Harris County Constable Precinct 4 hosts barbecue for Deputy Justin Gay

The barbecue fundraiser will raise money for Deputy Justin Gay, who was injured in the line of duty in November while attempting to detain a suspect. Groups can order large quantities in bulk. 11 a.m.-2 p.m. $10 per meal. The Enchanted Cypress Ballroom, 12603 Louetta Road, Cypress.

Dec. 6: Cy-Fair Houston Chamber hosts golf tournament

Dec. 7: Jersey Village gathers public input on gateway signage designs

The meeting will focus on improving gateway, entrance and wayfinding signage of Jersey Village with the help of Clark Condon landscape architecture firm. Dec. 7: Christmas lights go up at Dewberry Farm

Dec. 7-9: Basketball tournament supports scholarships

The Houston Methodist Cy-Hoops Invitational hosts 24 teams, including the 10 CFISD boys’ varsity teams. Proceeds support scholarships through the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation. Times and locations vary. 281-370-0144.

Dec. 8: Reach Unlimited holds Holiday Extravaganza
