Nov. 7: Author and Vietnam Veteran Samuel Axelrad hosts book signing
As Part of the Ken Burn's Vietnam PBS Documentary Series, the Fairbanks Branch Houston Public Library presents the "Peaceful Bones" book signing and presentation by Vietnam War veteran Samuel Axelrad. Axelrad's recently published a memoir illustrates his time in Vietnam as an army surgeon and his reunion 46 years later with one Vietnamese patient. A portion of the book's proceeds benefit Texas for Heroes—an organization that sponsors retreats for U.S. veterans—and Hoa Binh Peace Village, which supports children in Vietnam affected by Agent Orange.

Nov. 7: Cypress Christian School invites prospective families for tours

Nov. 8: Lone Star College-Cy-Fair hosts seminar on how to be a successful entrepreneur
