Mark McShaffry, owner of The Backyard Grill on Jones Road, and Brian Sandel, former managing partner of Raising Cane’s in Cy-Fair, plan to bring CreekWood Grill to Cypress this summer. The two have jointly purchased The Shack Burger Resort at 12710 Telge Road, Cypress, formerly owned by Joe Duong.

Pluckers Wing Bar confirms opening date of new Cypress restaurant
Texas-based Pluckers Wing Bar will open its doors in Cypress on May 14 at 25310 Hwy. 290, Cypress. This will be the sports bar’s fourth Houston area location.

Randalls on Barker Cypress Road in Coles Crossing to close in late June
The Randalls located in the Coles Crossing area at 12312 Barker Cypress Road, Cypress, will close in late June, company officials have confirmed. Communications Manager Dawn Proffitt said the decision was made due to the location’s inability to compete in the marketplace and no suitable site being available for a relocation. Ascent Plaza, a 10,300-square-foot development, is under construction at Mueschke, Schiel roads
Construction has begun on Ascent Plaza, a 10,300-square-foot shopping center and professional building at 16356 Mueschke Road, Cypress, near the Schiel Road intersection.
The project is being developed by Louetta Properties, and the architecture work was performed by Antonio Flamenco with Cypress-based INsite Architecture. Work crews began pouring a concrete slab for the pavement this week with the goal of opening the building to the public in August, said Gary Jones, project manager with Louetta Properties.
