IMPACT ROUNDUP: New fitness centers open in Cy-Fair


Looking for new ways to get in shape? Here are 8 newly opened fitness centers covering a variety of exercise styles in the Cy-Fair area to consider:

Club Pilates opened this summer at the Boardwalk at Towne Lake, 9955 Barker Cypress Road, Ste. 215, Cypress, making it the sixth Houston-area location. Classes are offered at four different difficulty levels, and private training is available. 832-653-9419.

FSM Fitness—which stands for flexibility, strength and mobility—opened July 3 at 16518 House & Hahl Road, Cypress. The commercial-grade personal training studio staff promotes healthy living habits through proper nutrition and efficient movement. 281-815-0772.

Cypress Wrestling Club opened in June at 9110 Jones Road, Ste. 140, Houston, with classes for ages 4 and older at varying levels of experience. Folkstyle, Greco-Roman style and freestyle classes improve balance, coordination, strength and conditioning, according to Owner Charles Strange. 832-515-1139.

King Tiger Taekwondo opened in June at 9212 Fry Road, Ste. 140, Cypress. The studio offers taekwondo and fitness classes for children ages 4 and older, adults and families with the chance to earn new belts as progress is made. 832-653-6601.

Planet Fitness opened Oct. 9 in the Copperfield area at 8455 Hwy. 6, Houston, in a space formerly occupied by Sears. The 24-hour fitness center features 20,572 square feet of cardio machines, locker rooms, flat screen TVs and a spa with HydroMassage beds and tanning. 832-674-4100.

Infuse Yoga and Exercise celebrated a grand opening Oct. 14 at 16902 Bridgeland Landing Drive, Cypress. The new business offers yoga, Zumba, running, mommy-and-me and women’s self defense classes in varying levels of intensity. In addition to the Bridgeland location, Infuse offers classes in Fairfield and Coles Crossing at 16333 Mueschke Road, Ste. A, Cypress, and 14405 Telge Road, Cypress, respectively. 281-713-4047.

Grace Barra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu opened Oct. 14 at 155103 Mason Road, Ste. B7, Cypress. The studio offers classes and programs covering fundamentals and advanced training, a women’s class, black belts and private instruction. 832-653-7977.

F45 Training, a branch of an Australian fitness company, opened Oct. 14 at 10611 Fry Road, Ste. 400, Cypress. Physical fitness and training classes include high-intensity interval training, team fitness and cardio. 832-850-3527.
