- Funding approved for National Association of County Veteran Services Officers training
The court approved $5,500 in funding to continue accreditation training and testing through the National Association of County Veteran Service Officers for three employees.
2. Law enforcement changes and funding
The court approved the closure of a part-time deputy constable position and opening of a full-time deputy constable position for the Montgomery County Constable Precinct 2 office. The position will help the office replace the work of two employees who are on medical leave. The court also approved the purchase of one new patrol vehicle for the Montgomery County Constable Precinct 3 office.
3. Montgomery County Animal Shelter update
Director Aaron Johnson provided an update about the Montgomery County Animal Shelter to county commissioners. Johnson said the shelter boasted a 92.6 percent live release rate in 2017, which compares to the national no kill threshold of 90 percent. Commissioners also upgraded the shelter's lead clinic technician and one of its clerk positions to supervisory roles.
