There are plenty of things to do in the Conroe and Montgomery area this weekend, including a live music showcase at a local record shop, a boxing fundraiser event and a Father’s Day car show. 1. Local record shop showcases live music
June 16

Wax Taps, a vinyl record shop in Conroe, will have live music in the store on Saturday evening. The free event features performances by LA II and Dayview, $5 craft beer pours and $4 cans of beer. 6-9 p.m. Free (admission). Wax Taps, 529 N. Frazier St., Conroe. 832-303-3711.

2. Watch local first responders box to benefit local nonprofit
June 16

Conroe nonprofit facility Fearless Boxing Gym hosts the Montgomery County Guns & Hoses fundraising boxing gala on Saturday, featuring boxing matches between local firefighters and law enforcement officers. The fundraiser benefits Fearless Boxing Gym, a faith-based nonprofit whose mission is to provide a family-friendly boxing facility for the community. 6-10:30 p.m. $25 (admission). 3. Attend a car show on Father’s Day
June 16

A special Father’s Day weekend Car, Truck and Bike Show comes to Conroe, benefiting the Conroe Cruisers’ scholarship fund. The event features numerous cars, trucks and motorcycles, as well as music, food and prizes for show participants. 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Free (admission), $30 (registration fee). 4. Pints for a Purpose
June 17

South County Jeeps hosts its inaugural Pints for a Purpose fundraising event at Southern Star Brewery on Sunday. The family-friendly event benefits the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and a member of the South County Jeeps organization. The event features live music, crawfish, a live auction and a Jeep show.
