1. Kick off the New Year with Fresh Fridays
Jan. 12

Conroe Parks and Recreation Department hosts the monthly Fresh Fridays event where children ages 6 to 13 years old can participate in organized activities while parents can take the evening off. January’s theme is “Kicking off the New Year,” and pre-registration for the event is recommended, as there are only 150 spaces available. 7-11 p.m. $6 (residents), $8 (non-residents). 2. Annual Go Texan fundraiser benefits local students

Go Texan fundraiser benefits local students The Metro Go Texan CWW Subcommittee of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo hosts the annual Boots, Buckles and Books, Dinner, Dance & Auction fundraiser, featuring a barbecue dinner and live music. 7-11 p.m. $35 (admission). 3. Gun and knife show returns to Conroe

A two-day high caliber gun and knife show comes to Conroe on Saturday and Sunday featuring hundreds of gun and knife accessories.
