Thanksgiving Blessings brings relief to Hurricane Harvey victims

Nonprofit organization Others Outreach Mission invites volunteers to fill a Thanksgiving “blessing bag” for families in need. The organization delivers the bags door-to-door in a neighborhood affected by Hurricane Harvey. The organization also accepts monetary donations and groceries for Blessings Bags. Sort donations at Montgomery County Food Bank

The Montgomery County Food Bank needs volunteers Nov. 20-22 to sort produce and meat for the holiday season. Volunteers will sort food in a cooler, so warm clothes are recommended. Volunteers must be age 16 or older and must wear closed-toe shoes.

Sponsor a Thanksgiving meal for a family with Tamina Community Center

The Tamina Community Center invites people to adopt a family in need during the holiday season. For Thanksgiving, volunteers can sponsor a family by purchasing a Thanksgiving dinner for four. Deliver breakfast bags with Meals on Wheels Montgomery County

Meals on Wheels Montgomery County needs volunteers to deliver food to local homebound seniors on Thanksgiving. Volunteers must collect the bags on Wednesday, Nov. 22 between 11 a.m.-1 p.m. from specific county locations. Bags will be delivered to local residents on Thursday, Nov. 23 at 10:30 a.m. There are numerous routes available, including routes in Conroe, Willis, Magnolia, The Woodlands and Kingwood.

Volunteer with Friends of Conroe on Thanksgiving Day

Nonprofit organization Friends of Conroe partnered with the Salvation Army to offer a Feast with Friends on Thanksgiving. Volunteers are needed to serve food, cook, monitor the kids’ area, offer refreshments and drive meals to local families.
