1. Mixed-use development at Preston Road and Rasor Boulevard refines its design
A mixed-use development located at the southeast corner of Rasor Boulevard and Preston Road received approval to alter its original site plans.
The site plans include updates to the mix of uses lining Preston Road, Plano Planning Director Christina Day told Community Impact Newspaper in an email.
The development, a project from Commodore Partners, originally received the necessary zoning changes to begin construction in September 2016, as previously reported by Community Impact Newspaper.
2. Oak Point Park could receive new pavilions, playground
Commissioners approved new site plans for the Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve that will add additional parking, a playground and new pavilion areas.
The approximately 100-acre plot of land is bound by Los Rios Boulevard and located east of the lake.
3. Apartment building at Heritage Creekside clears last hurdle
A 320-unit multifamily apartment slated for the Heritage Creekside development cleared its last hurdle after commissioners approved its final plat Feb. 19.
Renderings recently revealed by the developers of Heritage Creekside detail the mixed-use project’s urban core as a quadrangle of office buildings.

4. Commissioners table an expansion proposal for Medical City Plano
Commissioners tabled considering site plans and a zoning amendment for an expansion project for Medical City Plano.
The project, which would add a new four-story building to the property if it receives the necessary zoning amendments, is up for reconsideration at the March 5 planning and zoning meeting.
After hearing concerns from nearby neighborhoods, Medical City Plano agreed to scale back some of its initial proposals, which would have allowed the hospital to construct an eight-story building within 30 feet of a nearby neighborhood.
The proposal to be considered at the March 5 meeting shifts the size of the expansion to a four-story building with a 60-foot setback from the nearest neighborhood.
