The holiday season will kickoff in downtown Plano this weekend with Dickens Downtown Plano, holiday-themed plays and performances begin in various Plano theaters, and here is where you can find them:

The Downtown Plano Arts District will host a tree-lighting ceremony, snow tubing and ice sculptures at its holiday event, Dickens Downtown Plano. The event will also include a car show from the DFW Camaro Club. www.plano.gov/2395/Dickens-in-Historic-Downtown-Plano

2. Purchase crafts and services at Mystic Mandala’s Holistic Festival of Life

Mystic Mandala’s sixth Holistic Festival of Life will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday at the Plano Event Center, 2000 E. Spring Creek Parkway. The festival will hold live music performances and yoga sessions. Attendees can also purchase handmade crafts and services from a list of over 120 vendors. www.holisticfestivaloflife.com

3. Holiday-themed performances begin in Plano this weekend

On Dec. 1-3 and 8-9, the recently-opened Willow Bend Center for the Arts will put on a production of A Charlie Brown Christmas. The theater is located at 6121 W. Park Blvd., Ste. B216 at the Shops at Willow Bend in Plano.

On Dec. 1-2 and 8-10, Genesis Children’s Theatre will put on a production of A Christmas Carol. The theater is located at 3100, Independence Parkway, Ste. 324B, Plano.
