From goat yoga, Third Monday Trade Days and therapy dogs, there are plenty of unique events taking place in McKinney this weekend.
1. Third Monday Trade Days held all weekend
With over 450 vendors, guests can find unique gifts, home décor, clothing, accessories, sporting goods, antiques, dogs, food and more. 8 a.m.-4 p.m. (Friday), 8 a.m.-5 p.m. (Saturday and Sunday). 2. Therapy dog reading program held at library
The McKinney Public Library System invites people to learn about therapy dogs. Several registered animals will be on site visit and children will have a chance to meet and interact with them. This event is ideal for children ages 7-10 but all ages are welcome. Registration is recommended. 2-3 p.m. Free. John and Judy Gay Library, 6861 Eldorado Parkway. 3. Apex Centre hosts special needs swim night
During this event, the Apex Centre’s indoor leisure pool will be open late to allow children with special needs ages 17 and younger, their caregivers and family members to swim. 7-9 p.m. $7. Apex Centre, 3003 Alma Road. To register visit the Apex Centre’s website.
4. Join Tupps Brewery, Lone Star Ranch & Rescue for goat yoga and playtime
This hour-long yoga class will be followed by an hour of playing with the goats. Playtime with the goats is open for everyone. These goats are bottle raised, people friendly and from the Lone Star Ranch & Rescue, a non-profit organization that rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes farm animals. 11 a.m. (goat yoga with playtime), noon (playtime).
