Between the 16th annual Krewe of Barkus, grand opening celebration of El Corazon de Tejas and the Timeless Love Gala, there are plenty of events taking place in McKinney this weekend.
1. El Corazon de Tejas celebrates grand opening weekend
El Corazon de Tejas will celebrate its grand opening weekend with a fiesta. 2. Learn bird spotting techniques at the Heard Museum
At Second Saturday Bird Walks, attendees will learn bird spotting, identification techniques and more. 3. Eat, drink and shop at the Boho Market

4. Prohibition is theme of Timeless Love Gala

5. Murder mystery dinner at Chestnut Square
Attendees will dine at the Bevel House with actors from the North Texas Civilian Historians as they tell a story of scandal, intrigue and murder during the Prohibition era. During the dinner, teammates will work together to solve the crime. Attendees should dress in popular fashion from the Prohibition era and bring their own drinks. 6-9 p.m. $50. 6. Dog parade takes place in downtown McKinney
The 16th annual Krewe of Barkus features a parade, vendor booths, interactive activities and prizes for customers. In past years more than 250 dogs have participated in the parade. 12:30-4:30 p.m. Free. Downtown McKinney. www.mckinneytexas.org
