Kickstart 2019 health and wellness goals at MCL
Medical City Lewisville hosts a brunch and learn event to help people kickstart their 2019 health and wellness goals. The morning features raffles, prizes and health discussions from a wide range of health experts who will share their advice on how weight and nutrition affects other aspects of a person’s well-being.

Red River Songwriters return to the MCL Grand
The Red River Songwriters return to the MCL Grand for another Black Box Songwriter Series performance featuring Walt Wilkins, Susan Gibson, Drew Kennedy, Kelley Mickwee and Josh Grider. The concert series features singers and songwriters in an intimate listening room.

Commemorate Martin Luther King Jr.’s life
The event includes honoring Dr. King, entertainment and a keynote speaker. The theme for this year is “Loving the Diversity in Our World.” The winners of the MLK essay and art contests for North Texas students are announced at the event.

Local rotary hosts Vine and Dine fundraiser
The 13th annual fundraiser features music, food and a wine stroll with proceeds raised to benefit charities and civic service projects of Flower Mound Rotary and Rotary International. The “speak-easy” event also features game tables.

Rainbow trout to be stocked in the Elm Fork
The Texas Parks & Wildlife Department stocks rainbow trout in the Elm Fork below Lewisville Dam at the Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area most winters.
This season it is scheduled for two stocking events:
Wednesday, January 9 and Wednesday, January 30.
A total of 3,000 fish are expected to be received. The time the fish will be delivered is not known. A fishing license is required at LLELA for anglers age 17 and older. https://tpwd.texas.gov
