Valentine’s events and concerts: 5 things to do in Lewisville, Flower Mound and Highland Village this weekend, Feb. 9-11


Celebrate Valentine’s Day this weekend with a concert or a tour of Witherspoon Distillery. Here are five things to do locally this weekend:


1. Highland Village 5K to
raise money for brain disorders
The Children’s Autoimmune Brain Disorder Association hosts a 5k and 1k to raise money for research and awareness for autoimmune brain disorders. 8 a.m. Free-$30. Doubletree Ranch Park, 310 Highland Village Road, Highland Village. 940-489-2131.


2. Gina Chavez makes her Texas Tunes debut
The Austinite is known for blending the sounds of the Americas with tension and grace. Chavez’s passionate collection of bilingual songs take audiences on a journey through the Americas. New in 2018, reserve seating is available for all Texas Tunes Concerts. 3. Author Talk with Anna LeBaron
Anna LeBaron discusses her powerful memoir as she tells of her experiences growing up in a cult and how she ultimately realized that she wanted something more for her life. “The Polygamist’s Daughter” brings readers along on young Anna’s journey through obstacles to the freedom she found as an adult. 4. Black Box concert series
debuts with David Lee
Country singer and songwriter David Lee performs in an intimate, listening room setting. Lee’s songwriting has been recorded by Lee Ann Womack and Tim McGraw. 6:30 p.m. $15. MCL Grand,100 N. Charles St., Lewisville. 972-219-8446.

5. Celebrate Valentine’s Day at Witherspoon Distillery
The distillery offers a flavor-pairing experience in which guests receive four food and liquor pairings and a tour of Witherspoon Distillery. Live music is available at the bar and lounge as well as hors d’oeuvres and craft cocktails. Tours last approximately an hour. 11a.m.-5 p.m. $125 (single), $250 (couple).
