5 things to do in Grapevine this weekend, Sept. 27-30


Several community events take place this weekend in the city of Grapevine.


1. Book signing and fashion show at Ooh La La

2. Autism Education Summit at the Gaylord Resort

Families, caregivers and activists can gather at the annual autism education conference, featuring keynote speakers, research presentations, panel discussions, networking opportunities and helpful resources. After a day of lectures, participants can also unwind with a 1920s-themed party Saturday night. 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday. $89-$109. 3. “Little Miss Sunshine” at the OhLook Performing Arts Center

Theatre fans can catch a performance of “Little Miss Sunshine” during its opening weekend at Grapevine’s local theater. The play follows the Hoover family as they go on a cross-country road trip to help the youngest daughter win a children’s beauty pageant. 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2:30 p.m. Sunday. $15. 4. “She Loves Me” at Runway Theatre

Originally written by playwright Joe Masteroff, “She Loves Me” is set in 1930s Hungary and follows store clerk Georg Nowack as he inadvertently falls in love with a fellow employee through a series of anonymous letters. 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 3 p.m. Sunday. $22-$25. 5. Kitty yoga at the REC of Grapevine

Yogis can exercise with kittens as the REC of Grapevine teams with the city’s animal services department to promote adoptions and to help pets find homes. Proceeds and donations will benefit the city’s animal shelter. 10-10:45 a.m. $15 for participants ages 13 and older, a donation for participates ages 12 and younger.
