Travis County seeks feedback on numerous road projects in Southwest Austin

Travis County is seeking feedback through June 15 on its Transportation Blueprint, which includes preliminary plans for road construction and improvement projects throughout the county.

Not all projects will be financially viable; the projects that are ultimately completed could depend on public priorities, according to the blueprint’s website. Individuals interested in weighing in can use this link to view proposed projects and report the level of personal importance they hold to the respondent.

Here are eight projects up for consideration in Southwest Austin, as described by Travis County:

Bluff Springs Road/Old Lockhart Road/Maha Road

Project limits: from William Cannon Drive to Travis County line

Project description: construct a four-lane divided roadway

Bike/pedestrian improvements: 6-foot bike lanes and 5-foot sidewalks on both sides of roadway

Brodie Lane

Project limits: from Brodie Springs Trail to Yandall Drive

Project description: construct a two-lane divided roadway

Bike/pedestrian improvements: 6-foot bike lanes and 5-foot sidewalks on both sides of roadway

Fitzhugh Road

Project limits: from Manor Expressway to Travis County line

Project description: construct a four-lane divided roadway

Bike/pedestrian improvements: 6-foot bike lanes and 5-foot sidewalks on both sides of roadway

Puryear Road

Project limits: from I-35 to 1 mile west of I-35

Project description: construct a six-lane divided roadway

Bike/pedestrian improvements: 6-foot bike lanes and 5-foot sidewalks on both sides of roadway

South Pleasant Valley Road

Project limits: from Nuckols Crossing Road to Bradshaw Road

Project description: construct a four-lane divided roadway

Slaughter Lane (Moore Road)

Project limits: from Bluff Springs Road to Burkland Farms Road

Project description: construct a six-lane divided roadway

Bike/pedestrian improvements: 6-foot bike lanes and 5-foot sidewalks on both sides of roadway

Thomas Springs Road

Project limits: from Hwy. 71 West to Circle Drive

Project description: construct a two-lane undivided roadway

Bike/pedestrian improvements: 6-foot bike lanes and 5-foot sidewalks on both sides of roadway

William Cannon Drive

Project limits: from McKinney Falls Parkway to US 183 South

Project description: construct a six-lane divided roadway

Bike/pedestrian improvements: 6-foot bike lanes and 5-foot sidewalks on both sides of roadway
