See the 5 Austin bridges that require major rehabilitation or replacement according to city staff
Five Austin bridges need major repairs or replacement according to a recent report from the city’s Public Works Department. After six people died during the Florida International University pedestrian bridge collapse, Austin City Council requested information on the health of the city’s bridges.

Aloft, multifamily housing and office spaces planned for Garza Ranch development near corner of MoPac and William Cannon Drive
Construction continues on the Garza Ranch development, located on Ben Garza Lane near the northeast corner of William Cannon Drive and the MoPac Service Road in Southwest Austin. The 34-acre mixed-use development will include office space, a 140-room boutique hotel, 370 multifamily units and three parking garages, according to a city permit.

$132 million bond package to be included on Dripping Springs ISD ballot in May
The Dripping Springs ISD community will have an opportunity on May 5 to vote on a $132 million bond package aimed at increasing district capacity and updating facilities.

Central Health takes first steps towards increasing homestead exemptions in Travis County
Central Health’s Budget and Finance Committee voted Wednesday to recommend increasing property tax exemptions for residents over 65 and disabled residents from $80,000 to $85,500 for each of these populations in Travis County.

Transportation update: I-35 bridge construction at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive enters Phase 2
The Texas Department of Transportation is reconstructing the bridge structures over I-35 at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive. This past winter, crews wrapped up Phase 1 of the project.
