Here’s 6 Veterans Day events to attend this weekend


Hays County events

Texas State University opening basketball game, Nov. 9: The Texas State University basketball team will be playing the Air Force at 7 p.m. for the opening basketball game at Strahan Arena. Tickets are available at Texas State’s website, and readers can receive $5 off their ticket when they use the promo code “TIPOFF”. 6-7:30 p.m.

Veterans Day Parade, Nov. 10: The Veterans Day Parade will begin in front of the Historical Courthouse at 111 E. San Antonio St., San Marcos. 8-11 a.m.

Wimberley Veterans of Foreign Wars Luncheon/Meet and Greet, Nov. 10: The luncheon is open to the public and will be hosted at 401 Jacobs Well Road, Wimberley. 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Family potluck, Nov. 10: The potluck will be hosted at Central Texas AMVETS Post 115 located at 401 Rebel Drive, Kyle. 5 p.m.

Texas State University football game, Nov. 10: Local veterans will receive on-field recognition at the beginning of the second quarter of the game. 1100 Aquarena Springs Drive, San Marcos. 6 p.m.

Veteran’s Day Parade in Buda, Nov. 10: The parade will begin in downtown Buda and move along Main Street. 9 a.m.
