State Rep. District 45

In the race to replace State Rep. Jason Isaac, R-Dripping Springs, Rebecca Bell-Metereau and Erin Zwiener faced off for the State House District 45 Democrat nomination, with Zwiener taking the win Tuesday night.

Isaac's seat is being vacated because he is running to replace outgoing U.S. Rep. Lamar Smith in District 21.

Ken Strange was voted as the Republican nominee during the primary election March 6.

The 45th District spans Hays County, including the cities of San Marcos, Buda, Kyle, Dripping Springs and Wimberley.

There was a 3.79 percent voter turn out, which is nearly one-third of 9.46 percent of registered voters who cast ballots for Democrats in the March 6 primary election.

Democratic candidates

Rebecca Bell-Metereau: 2,651 or 48.32 percent of the vote.
Erin Zweiner: 2,835 or 51.68 percent of the vote.
