Texas Water Safari
Register by May 24 for the event billed as “the world’s toughest canoe race.” Since 1963 the Texas Water Safari has offered competitors the chance to earn bragging rights by traveling 260 miles in four days and four hours, starting at Spring Lake in San Marcos and ending in the Gulf Coast town of Seadrift. 9 a.m. $250. NPR’s ‘From the Top’ Live
The grand finale of the Texas State International Piano Festival is a live taping of the NPR show “From the Top,” which celebrates young classical musicians.
