Saturday, Jan. 6

New Pflugerville Police Department officers welcome run
Members of the public are invited to support Pflugerville PD’s newest group of officers during Chief Jessica Robledo’s Welcome Run through downtown Pflugerville. Nine officers will make the approximately 1-mile run. 8 a.m. Free. Gilleland Creek Park, 700 N. Railroad Ave., Pflugerville.

Christmas tree recycling
Round Rock residents can recycle their Christmas trees for free at the Round Rock Brush Recycling Center. The city will give away a limited number of small tree seedlings and provide volunteers to help unload trees. 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Free. 310 Deepwood Drive, Round Rock.

Tree seedlings giveaway
Pick up a free tree seedling at the Brushy Creek Community Center. The center is inviting guests to pick up a light breakfast and choose from four tree varieties: loquat, dwarf persimmon, Texas native pecan and Mexican white oak. 9 a.m.-noon. Free. Free dog training classes
Joy of Dog Training will host a free dog training class for beginner dogs. Limited space is available. 11 a.m. Free. 1501 Kingston Lacy Blvd., Pflugerville.

Movie Matinee: The Mountain Between Us
Guests can enjoy a free movie screening of The Mountain Between Us. The movie is available for anyone age 18 and up. Snacks and drinks will be provided. 2-4 p.m. Free. Pflugerville Public Library, 1008 W. Pfluger St., Pflugerville.
