Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five things check out around Cedar Park and Leander, including a class on public speaking, a movie screening and a guide to street art in Austin.


  1. Leander City Council set to receive presentation from builders association
    City Council meets to discuss a number of zoning cases, voluntary annexation and a presentation from the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin regarding the architectural pattern book. In December, council members did not approve a contract with a vendor for the creation of the book and decided instead to have the association give a presentation on the need for a pattern book.   1. Thurgood Marshall film shown at library

  1. Public speaking course teaches comedic techniques
    Award winning public speaker Darren LaCroix holds “Humor 101: Start Getting Laughs Even if You Don’t Think You Are Funny” at Church of the Savior. The workshop teaches guests and members of the Toastmasters International organization how to incorporate comedy into communication.
