1. Austin Spurs face off against Northern Arizona Suns
The basketball team, affiliate of the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs, play against the minor-league affiliate of the Phoenix Suns.

2. Baylor Scott & White hosts acupuncture, massage event
New Year, New You Happy Hour introduces attendees to integrative medicine techniques and serves light refreshments. Acupuncture and massage therapy are offered in 30-minute sessions; reserve a spot online or over the phone.

3. Students participate in Greater Leander FFA Livestock Show
Agricultural science students from all Leander ISD high schools show rabbits, broiler chickens, street, lamb and goats and compete with agricultural mechanics projects.

Starts at 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday. Free admission. Leander High School, Show Arena, 3301 S. Bagdad Road, Leander.


4. Worth the trip: Cedar Park-based nonprofit hosts inspirational speakers
The Power of Your Dreams, held by Jamsz Konnections, includes speeches from community members involved in business, poetry, entertainment and activists. There is also is limited availability for a free magic camp for children ages 5-12.

5. Leander Car Show showcases antique automobiles

The informal come-and-go event includes classic, exotic and vintage vehicles.

6. Leander Library Foundation sells used books
Proceeds from the book sale support Leander Public Library’s services and resources.

7. The Moody Blues performs 50th anniversary concert
The British rock band celebrates the anniversary of its landmark album, Days of Future Passed. The complete album will be performed during the concert, as well as the group’s greatest hits. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
