  1. Chris Duarte Group performs blues music in Cedar Park
    Blues musician Chris Duarte performs at BC’s Backyard Bar & Grill. Duarte first appeared on the music scene in Austin in the early 1990s.

  1. Austin Spurs host player tryouts
    Cedar Park-based NBA affiliate team the Austin Spurs hold local player tryouts, offering players a chance to try out for the team.

8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. $200. Round Rock Sports Center, 2400 Chisholm Trail, Round Rock. 512-236-8333.

  1. Cedar Park Police hold children’s safety seminar
    The class teaches self-defense tips for ages 3-18 years old. The class also discusses topics such as bullying.

  1. Old Town Summer Nights holds final 2018 event in Old Town Leander
    Old Town Summer Nights includes a concert, shopping opportunities, a farmers market, the Leander Car Show and dining options. The October event will be located at Robin Bledsoe Park.

    Cedar Park Public Library’s regular chess event in the afternoon offers basic instruction and open play.
