International School of Texas is undergoing some changes that should be complete in about a year and a half.

Plans for the private school on Hudson Bend Road include several amenities and educational enhancements.

“We have about $3 million that has been donated from the school community,” said Bethani Emery, International School of Texas director of admissions. “We’re still in the planning phases, but we’ll be definitely building a third building and enhancing the existing facility with renovations.”

The total makeover includes a new gym, assembly space and a dining hall as well as new classrooms.

Emery said the plan is to have all of the renovations and additions ready for students by the 2020-21 school year.

“Really, the school community kind of came together, and donations were coming to us at the beginning of the summer, and then, just like that we got $3 million,” Emery said. “So we’re pretty fortunate for our community to really embrace what we’re trying to do.”
