Georgetown is home to a variety of summer camps for children of all ages and interests. Parents and guardians can choose from academic, arts, day, overnight and sports camps. Here is a noncomprehensive list of summer camps in the area. Spring break camp options are available here.

ACADEMIC 

1. Adventures in Engineering
This project-based camp affords students the opportunity to enter high school and college-level programs with a foundation in pre-engineering. Ages: sixth-eighth grade. Dates: June 17-21. Cost: $200 ($60 for students on reduced lunch; $25 for students with free lunch)

2. Battle Bots Lego Camp
Campers learn to design and build motorized battle cars. Ages: 9-14. Dates: Aug. 12-14. Cost: $180 (residents), $225 (nonresidents)

3. Camp Invention-Supercharged
Campers will build 21st-century skills through coding and programming robots, exploring radio frequencies and unearthing ancient fossils. Ages: kindergarten-sixth grade. Dates: June 10-14. Cost: $250

4. Career Cruisin’
Campers can get an introduction to culinary arts, environmental science, business or sports, and participate in field study trips and special programs. Ages: sixth-eighth grade. Dates: June 3-7. Cost: $150 ($50 for students on reduced lunch; $35 for student with free lunch)

5. Extream Lego

19. YMCA of Greater Williamson County Camp Twin Lakes
Campers can choose from overnight, mini-overnight, day and family camps. At the overnight camp, attendees can swim, practice archery, play paintball, canoe, kayak and more, while the mini-overnight camp is shorter and includes two days of day camp. The day camp includes outdoor activities. At family camp, participants choose how to spend their time. Ages 7-16 (overnight camp), 6-13 (mini-overnight camp), 5-15 (day camp), all ages (family camp). 21. Extreme Water Sports
The camp’s first week is spent whitewater kayaking, snorkeling, wakeboarding and sailing, followed by three days of camping at North Padre Island. Ages: 12-17. Dates: July 23-Aug.1. Cost: $440 (residents), $550 (nonresidents)

22. New Mexico Travel Camp

26. Volleyball Skills Camp
Beginning campers learn basic skills and the game of volleyball. The beginner camp is designed for those with no experience. The intermediate camp is geared toward more experienced campers interested in playing volleyball in school. Campers in the intermediate sessions should have played two seasons in a recreation center league or one year in school prior to signing up. Ages: 8-12 (beginner), 10-14 (intermediate).
