Central Texas Food Bank awards $3,000 grant to The Caring Place

The Caring Place, which operates a food pantry at 2000 Railroad Ave., Georgetown, received a $3,000 grant in January from the Central Texas Food Bank’s ReThink Hunger grant program. The funding will allow The Caring Place to buy four new shelves as well as a 49-cubic-foot freezer to replace an older, smaller unit. Randalls’ new Georgetown grocery store opens on Williams Drive

The new Randalls grocery store at 5721 Williams Drive, Georgetown, held a grand-opening event Friday. The 57,655-square-foot store includes deli, produce, floral, meat and dairy sections. The store also features a pharmacy as well as a Starbucks location, and an adjacent fueling station is under construction.
