Correction: The original version of this story left out the Living Spaces location in Pflugerville, Texas.

Updated 8:30 p.m., April 16

The vote to incentive Living Spaces to come to Frisco has been delayed until mid-May.

Frisco City Council voted April 16 to table the vote after some council members raised concerns about the site plan for the building, saying it was too close to an adjacent neighborhood.

City staff is going to work with Living Spaces to revise the site plan and add more space between the retail building and the nearby neighborhood.

Original story

Living Spaces, a furniture retailer, is planning to open its fourth Texas location in Frisco.

Frisco City Council and the Frisco Economic Development Corp. board of directors will vote on agreements April 16 and 17, respectively, to incentivize the store's opening.

The store's potential site sits on 15 acres at the northeast corner of Hillcrest Road and SH 121. The store is supposed to open by spring 2021, according to the agreement with the city.

Living Spaces has locations in four states. San Antonio and Pflugerville, Texas have one location each, and a Grand Prairie location is coming soon.

The store would join the line of furniture retail giants along SH 121, including IKEA in Frisco and Nebraska Furniture Mart in The Colony.
