Midwestern State University Flower Mound, 100 Parker Square Road, will celebrate its grand opening and ribbon cutting Wednesday, June 6 at 10:30 a.m.

The new facility will be shared with North Central Texas College and will be equipped with two science laboratories, a combination laboratory, lecture classrooms, two seminar classrooms and three interactive television classrooms.

“We had a market study done that showed that the Flower Mound – Lewisville location had a need for adult-based programs, and with our relationship with NCTC and the demographics in that area we saw an opportunity with them to work together,” said Keith Lamb, vice president of student affairs at MSU.

The partnership broke ground on the new location December 2016. The shared facility will be beneficial to students so that they can finish their associate degrees, and then easily transition into pursuing a bachelor degree on the same campus, according to an MSU press release.

After the ribbon cutting Wednesday, visitors will be able to tour the 31,000-square-foot building.

The facility will offer several amenities for students’ convenience, such as a state-of-the-art webinar room, a freeform study and lounging area, tutoring and testing space, administrative and faculty offices, a bookstore with a coffee bar and grab-and-go food items, and a conference room that will be available for community use.

“We are excited and ready to open the doors,” MSU Flower Mound Director Randy Canivel said in the release. “This is a momentous occasion for MSU Texas.”
