1. Plano Parkway and Preston Road intersection
After a series of weather-related delays in recent weeks, this year-and-a-half-long intersection project is now expected to come to a close in July. The project has largely remade the intersection where Plano Parkway meets Preston Road. Crews opened the newly constructed eastbound lanes on Plano Parkway in March. The new lanes, built in the large median next to their westbound counterparts, were expected to streamline traffic, reducing the intersection to a single-traffic-signal setup instead of two. The city’s engineering department expects lane closures on Preston to last through July as crews continue to work near the median.
