1. Lake Forest Drive expansion
The city of McKinney is widening Lake Forest Drive from two lanes to four lanes between Wilmeth and Bloomdale roads. Crews also rebuilt the adjacent eastbound lanes of Bloomdale to facilitate its transition to CR 164. Drivers can expect sporadic lane closures along Lake Forest Drive and Bloomdale Road.
Timeline: August 2016-end of July

2. Virginia Parkway widening
When complete, this project will add an additional lane of traffic in each direction of Virginia Parkway from US 75 to Ridge Road. In July, construction crews will create a new right-turn lane from westbound Virginia Parkway to Joplin Drive. Daily lane closures are expected between 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Timeline: March 2017-February 2019
Cost: $15 million
Funding sources: city of McKinney, Collin County, North Central Texas Council of Governments


3. Hardin Boulevard, McKinney Ranch Parkway widening
Construction on the two new eastbound lanes of McKinney Ranch Parkway will take place in July, and some traffic will be shifted via a traffic detour. Pavement widening on Hardin Boulevard from SH 121 to McKinney Ranch should be complete in mid-August.
