The Plano City Council will meet at 7 p.m. for its regular meeting at Municipal Center, 1520 K Ave. The meeting’s agenda includes a sizable consent agenda and several public hearings, including a few items aimed at enhancing the city’s infrastructure in the downtown and Legacy West areas. The last day to register to vote in the Nov. 8 election is Oct. 11. Typically, voters must be registered to vote in their county 30 days before an election, but the 30th day this year is Sunday, Oct. 9. Oct. 13: The North Texas Municipal Water District will co-host a free Texas Water Steward workshop from 8 a.m.-noon at Myers Park & Event Center, 7117 CR 166, McKinney. The workshop, presented by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board, represents the water district’s steps toward finding people from various community and professional backgrounds to serve on its steering committee for the Lavon Lake Watershed Protection Plan. The plan will work to protect the 491,520 acres of land that water flows over on its way to the lake.
