1. Annual family luau night


The Tom Muehlenbeck Recreation Center is hosting its third annual family swim night and luau tonight from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at 5801 W. Parker Road. Attendees can play water volleyball and basketball and have their picture taken in a photo booth. Tickets are $5 for attendees ages three and up, and will cover ice cream and dinner provided by In-N-Out. Children ages 2 and younger can enter for free, but will need a ticket if they plan to have a meal.

2. Zumba now available for toddlers


Zumba-loving parents can bring their toddlers to a free demo of Zumbini at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Buy Buy Baby, 2712 North Central Expressway. Zumbini is similar to Zumba, but is more child-friendly, with low-impact movements and kid-oriented music. Those interested can register for an eight-week session of Zumbini for $100, which comes with a CD of the music played in the classes.

3. Farmers market at the Shops at Willow Bend


Hosted at the Shops at Willow Bend, the Red Tent farmers market will be selling local produce and grocery items from over 30 vendors this Saturday. It will last from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and will also include handmade goods made by local artisans. This is the Shops at Willow Bend's second farmers market of the summer. The market will be located at the parking lot closest to the food court entrance at the Shops at Willow Bend, 6121 W. Park Blvd.

4. Stand Up & Paint holds Texas painting lesson


Stand Up & Paint will host its first Plano painting lesson from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. this Saturday at On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina, 5000 SH 121. Guests will learn how to paint the state of Texas, and are encouraged to add their own creative flair. The lesson is $30 per guest, which is available for pre-registration on Stand Up & Paint’s website. A minimum of 10 percent of the proceeds will be donated to Hugs Cafe in McKinney, a business that trains and employs adults with special needs.
