The Plano Chamber of Commerce was one of four finalists for the 2017 Chamber of the Year Award Tuesday evening.

The Plano chamber was the only finalist from Texas at the 2017 Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives convention, which took place in Nashville, Tennessee, from July 17-19.

"The application has four sections that focus on operations, membership, communications and the synopsis of the two key programs," Chamber President Jamee Jolly said in an email to Community Impact Newspaper.

Jolly said she was notified in early 2017 that they had qualified to apply for chamber of the year. Highlighting the recently-opened LegacyTexas Business Center and the Plano Culture and Inclusion Alliance in their application, the Plano chamber was told they were one of four finalists in May.

Huntsville/Madison County Chamber won the 2017 award.
