The Sam Moon Group is expected to open its first hotel this summer at Plano’s Legacy West. The 304-room hotel will have approximately 440 parking spaces, 30,000-square-feet of conference space and an eclectic mix of Texas and Asian-inspired art.

The hotel, Renaissance Dallas at Plano Legacy West, is expected to open July 1 at 6007 Legacy Drive, Plano.

The hotel will be run by Marriott International Inc. and will be the flagship of the Renaissance hotels new brand and style, said Chris Carraher, director of construction at the Sam Moon Group.

The theme of the hotel is west of zen—a balance of Asian and Texas influences.

Each room will also encompass the hotel theme with a lucky cat figurine and quote from former President George W. Bush on display. The quote reads, “Some folks look at me and see a swagger, which in Texas, is called walking.”

Room sizes will vary from a 359-square-foot basic room to a 2,315-square-foot presidential suite. A standard room rate is $329 per night and presidential room rates vary.

The 15-story hotel will also dedicate the second floor to conference space. In addition to numerous conference rooms, the second floor will have a junior ballroom and large ballroom. The junior ballroom will hold up to 325 people; the large ballroom will hold 900-1,000 people, said John Klukan, director of sales and marketing for the hotel.

Other hotel amenities include a pool deck, fitness room, spa, restaurant, bar and more.

The pool deck, which will be located on level three, will have a hot tub, lab pool, a stage, cabanas, fire pits and a bar.

The restaurant, located on the first level of the hotel, will be inspired by Chinese street market style food, Carraher said.
