1. First Red Tent farmers market


Hosted at the Shops at Willow Bend, the Red Tent farmers market will be selling local produce and grocery items from over 30 vendors this Saturday. It will last from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and will also include handmade goods made by local artisans. The farmers market will appear for its second and last sale next Saturday, July 8. The market will be located at the parking lot closest to the food court entrance at the Shops at Willow Bend, 6121 W. Park Blvd.

2. Plano Community Band performs patriotic concert


The Plano Community Band will perform traditional Independence day music in preparation for the July 4 celebrations. The show will begin at 7 p.m. July 3 at Haggard Park, 901 E 15th St. The event will be free to the public.

3. Independence Day parade and fireworks show


This year’s Independence Day parade will be kicked off by the Plano Lions Club from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. July 4. The parade will begin at the Plano ISD administration building, make its way down 15th Street toward Independence Parkway, then east on Parkhaven Drive to end at Plano Senior High School.

Later that day, the city will present its fireworks show at 9:30 p.m. at the Oak Point Park Amphitheater, 2801 Spring Creek Parkway. Food trucks will serve customers starting at 5 p.m. at the nearby Collin College campus. A DJ will play music starting at 7:30 p.m.
