Sci-Tech Discovery Center in Frisco received a $50,000 donation from Raytheon Company to create a MarkerSpace within the center.

A MakerSpace is much like a wood shop in that children and adults can come in and use tools to create things including possible new inventions and prototypes. The MakerSpace will include manufacturing equipment and engineers from Raytheon will volunteer their time to help visitors create objects.

The MakerSpace is expected to open by this summer.

Sci-Tech held a presentation last week to talk about the MakerSpace and receive a check from Raytheon.
