The intersection of Rockhill Parkway and Coit Road will be closed beginning June 20 in all directions for about eight weeks, according to the city’s communication office.

The reason for the closures is to reconstruct the intersection as part of the widening project of Virginia Parkway in McKinney. The roads are to open before school starts in late August.

Rockhill Parkway/Virginia Parkway will be closed to through traffic between Preston Road and Independence Parkway. Alternate routes will be Independence and Eldorado Parkways.

Traffic will only be allowed on Rockhill Parkway east of Preston Road to access a business and/or church. Traffic will be allowed on Virginia Parkway, west of Independence Parkway to access a McKinney neighborhood.

Coit Road will be closed to through traffic between U.S. 380 and Rockhill Parkway/ Virginia Parkway. Alternate routes will be Preston Road and Eldorado Parkway.

Traffic will only be allowed on Coit Road south of US 380 to access another McKinney neighborhood. No traffic will be allowed on Coit Road south of that neighborhood.
