(Editor's note: City officials originally announced this switch would take place March 6)

Traffic is returning to its normal flow at the Stonebrook Parkway and Parkwood Boulevard intersection at 10 a.m. on March 7.

Traffic on Stonebrook, which had been sharing one half of the road as it passes through the intersection, will be shifted so that eastbound and westbound traffic will flow on opposite sides of the median.

Traffic on Parkwood Boulevard will be switched so that northbound and southbound traffic will flow on opposite sides of the median.

Separate left turn lanes will be provided and the traffic signal will begin operating as typical of a major intersection.

City officials warn motorists to watch for flaggers near the traffic switches and use caution.

Two through lanes will also be opened to traffic in both directions on Stonebrook between Preston Road and Dallas Parkway.

The third lane lane in each direction will open in the next several months.
