This week the Southlake Historical Society will host a discussion about Lake Grapevine and its connection to Southlake.

The event features speaker Dale S. King, a former park ranger and the natural resource manager for seven Metroplex lakes, including Lake Grapevine.

Maps and photographs of the construction of Lake Grapevine, built in the late 1940s, will be shown. The event begins 7 p.m. Thursday, May 10 in the third floor meeting room of Southlake Town Hall, 1400 Main St. in Southlake.

The event is free and open to the public, but donations are encouraged.
