Local artists could get a chance to see their painting hanging on the walls of Southlake Town Hall's second floor lobby.

The city's Arts Council and public library are seeking original works of art for "Art in Southlake," a temporary gallery exhibit in Southlake Town Hall. The Arts Council will review submissions and select between 12 and 20 pieces of art to display in the town hall from Feb. 18 to April 16.

Kerry McGeath, deputy director of community services for Southlake, said submissions are welcome until Jan. 20.

"It allows us to have some nice art on display in the Town Hall lobby on the second floor that doesn't cost the city anything," he said. "And it is nice to have a rotation so it's not the same art on display all the time. And it gives the artists an opportunity for people to see their work."

Artists can submit two to five digital images and include the title, medium, dimensions and date of artwork to [email protected].
