logoMcKinney Air Center, the fixed base operator at McKinney National Airport, has been ranked in the top 10 in the Pilots’ Choice Awards competition for the second year in a row.

Sitting at No. 6, McKinney Air Center was beat out  the competition with the largest and busiest fixed base operators, like Meridian located in Teterboro, New York, and Banyan Air Service in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. McKinney Air Center ranked fourth in the South Central Region.

The Air Traffic Control Tower was ranked No. 1 in the country. The air traffic controllers at McKinney National Airport, employed by Robinson Aviation, Inc., compete against all control towers in the United States, including those operated by the Federal Aviation Administration.

“It is my privilege to congratulate both McKinney Air Center and McKinney Tower for their dedication and the honor they havebestowed on the City of McKinney and McKinney National Airport,” said Deputy City Manager Jose Madrigal in a news release.

Mark Jaraczewski, General Manager of McKinney Air Center, said the center is honored to be acknowledged by its customers.

"Our entire staff takes pride in providing excellent services at McKinney Air Center and McKinney National Airport,” he said. “Our customers will notice that McKinney continues to place an emphasis on the importance of both the FBO and the airport for our entire community.”

The City of McKinney took over operations of the airport in November 2013, which included McKinney Air Center.
