Pacific Tradewind Coffee Co. expects to open a new space in early 2020, which will be called TexaKona Cafe & Coffee Museum. The coffee shop and museum has been operating since 2016 in its current space at 3103 N. McDonald St., McKinney, where it operates as a roastery, coffee museum, coffee bar and gift shop. TexaKona is a brand of coffee beans grown in Hawaii and roasted in Texas.

The new roughly 2,000-square-foot space will be located at 260 E. Davis St., Ste. 100, McKinney, next to the Davis at the Square leasing office. TexaKona’s menu will feature a variety of current and newly created drinks, including hydrofreshers, espresso-based iced and hot drinks and more. A new food menu will feature avocado toast, souffled eggs, smoked salmon toast, caffeinated cereal, homemade pie, banana pancakes and several coffee-infused treats.

In addition, the museum aspect of the shop will be expanded, and different sections of the shop will be designated to explain the science and history behind coffee. One part of the new space will be modeled after an espresso machine, and customers will be able to sit in what will resemble the inner workings of the machine. A “bean-ius bar” will also be available for customers who would like to speak with a coffee expert about a variety of coffee-related topics, such as brewing methods, food pairings and more.

Pacific Tradewinds will continue operating as usual in its current space until the end of the year. The space will continue to be used as a roastery for coffee beans and as an event space available for rent. Roastery tours will continue to be offered as well.

TexaKona also has coffee shops in Allen and Van Alstyne. 214-778-5662. www.pacifictradewindscoffee.com
