Michelle Baumann has been selected to replace longtime Rueben Johnson Elementary Principal Suzy Woodard. Baumann had previously served as Johnson Elementary's assistant principal for four years.

Baumann served as the response to intervention specialist for Johnson Elementary and Valley Creek Elementary for two years and as 4th grade teacher at Johnson from 2007 to 2009. She began her career as an educator in 1999 as an elementary teacher in Bryan ISD.

“McKinney ISD prides itself on developing administrators from within,” said McKinney ISD Superintendent Rick McDaniel, in a news release.“Whenever possible, we like to promote those individuals who have demonstrated a high level of success in their current job. Mrs. Baumann has been a successful assistant principal at Reuben Johnson Elementary for a number of years and, consequently, we feel she is the best fit to carry on the programs that have served Reuben Johnson so well.”

Baumann holds a bachelor of science in interdisciplinary studies with a specialization in Early Childhood Education from Texas A&M University - Kingsville and a master of science in educational administration from Stephen F. Austin University.
