Collective Coffee, a new coffee shop, is expected to open in Historic Downtown McKinney in early 2023.

The coffee shop, to be located at 301 W. Louisiana St., Unit 102, is a new concept by co-owners Patrick McCarthy, Tim Cook and Alyssa Cook. The coffee shop will serve a variety of coffee drinks made with Edison coffee, along with teas sourced from another downtown McKinney business, Spice & Tea Merchants, Tim said. The shop will also offer seasonal drinks such as refreshers, as well as breakfast and snack items with gluten-free options, Tim said. The shop also plans to have four signature drinks named after iconic McKinney streets; Virginia, Louisiana, Tennessee and Kentucky.

The coffee shop is intended to serve as a welcoming, multipurpose space for anyone looking to work, study, connect with others and more, Tim said. The trio of owners connected through their church and aimed to combine the Cook’s interests in entrepreneurship and McCarthy’s knowledge of coffee to create Collective Coffee, Tim said. The coffee shop, aimed at inclusivity and acceptance, is currently under construction.

“We wanted to be able to create a space for any and everybody from any walk of life to be able to come in and feel a part of something and feel like this is the place they want to be and just kind of do life,” Tim said.
