An 86-year-old McKinney woman with underlying health conditions and COVID-19 died in her residence April 21, Collin County health officials reported.

This marks the eighth McKinney resident to die since the county began tracking novel coronavirus cases in March.

“We extend our deepest sympathies to her family and friends,” said Collin County Judge Chris Hill. “It is always sad to learn of the death of another member of our Collin County community.”

April 21 marked 26 net new cases of the virus in the county. Of those, six were reported in McKinney. There have been 570 total confirmed positive cases of the the virus in Collin County, with 170 active cases. There are 120 total confirmed positive cases of the virus in McKinney.
