The Chestnut Square Farmers Market and ice-skating with Dallas Stars mascot Victor E. Green are just some of the events taking place in McKinney this weekend.

1. Dinosaurs return to the Heard Natural Science Museum
The 12th annual “Dinosaurs Live!” exhibit includes a 46-foot Tyrannosaurus rex and nine life-size animatronic dinosaurs. The Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary, 1 Nature Place, McKinney, is open Saturday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday from 1-5 p.m. Admission is free for museum members and children age 2 and younger, and $6-$11 for non-members. 2. Quality of life survey available for residents
The McKinney Community Development Corp. is conducting a residential survey to gather input on priorities for quality of life amenities in the city. The 15-question survey contains questions about green and open space, entertainment, and outdoor parks and recreation. The survey is available online until Sept. 29 and can be accessed on the city’s website here.

3. Farmers Market held at Hunt and Tennessee streets
Because of construction at Chestnut Square, the farmers market will be held at Hunt and Tennessee streets Saturday from 8 a.m.-noon. More information about the free event can be found online at www.chestnutsquare.org.

4. Basic computer skills class taught at Roy and Helen Hall Memorial Library
The Roy and Helen Hall Memorial Library, 101 E. Hunt St., McKinney, will host a free basic computer skills class from 10:30-11:45 a.m. This class is part of the library’s fall 2017 computer classes. A variety of computer classes will be held until December, including basic e-mail and internet skills, basic word and basic excel classes. 5. Ice-skating with Dallas Stars mascot Victor E. Green
Dallas Stars mascot Victor E. Green will be at the Dr Pepper StarCenter, 6993 Stars Ave., McKinney, from noon-1:30 p.m. Admission is free for children age 3 and younger, $8 for ages 4-17 and $9 for adults.
