MedSpring Urgent Care, which opened Aug. 21 at 5131 S. Custer Road, Ste. 111, McKinney, is offering free flu shots Sept. 16-23 from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. No appointments are necessary, and anyone over 12 months old can get a flu shot. More information can be found online at MedSpring’s website.
2. County holds public hearing on proposed fiscal year 2017-18 budget
Collin County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the proposed fiscal year 2017-18 budget Monday. After the public hearing, commissioners are expected to adopt the budget and tax rate. The meeting is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at the Jack Hatchell Administration Building, 2300 Bloomdale Road, McKinney.

3. Proposed fiscal year 2017-18 budget discussed at McKinney City Council meeting
The second public hearing on the proposed fiscal year 2017-18 budget will take place at Tuesday’s city council meeting.
Council will also adopt the proposed tax rate, which is an approximate 3-cent decrease compared to the FY 2016-17 property tax rate, which is $0.5730 per $100 property valuation.

4. Mixed-use development Cross F Ranch renamed
Cross F Ranch, a 2,500-acre development in the northwest sector of McKinney, has been renamed "Honeycreek." The new name represents the history of the project, Santiago Jorba, CEO of Creu Capital said in a press release, and pays respect to the surrounding geographic entities.
The mixed-use development spans from Lake Forest Drive to US 75 near the future Laud Howell Parkway and Hardin Boulevard. The development will consist of commercial, retail and entertainment venues.
