Subdivision variations and park plans on the Commissioners Court agenda today


Collin County Commissioners will be hearing a variance request on the county's subdivision regulations today in order to replat a lot in Hilltop Acres. Subdivision regulations stipulate that lots in a cul-de-sac must have a minimum of 80 feet of road frontage. The existing 10.71 acre lot has approximately 110 feet of current frontage. The owner is proposing two lots with 30 feet and 80 feet of frontage, therefore, one of the resulting lots would not comply with the subdivision regulations.

Commissioners also plan to take a closer look at the county's park system today. Discussions will include how the county's parks are currently being used as well as needs and future uses.

McKinney ISD board of trustees holds monthly meeting Tuesday


The McKinney ISD board of trustees will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday night at the McKinney ISD Administration Building, #1 Duvall St., McKinney. The agenda includes amended recommendations for the 2017-18 district calendar.

The agenda also includes construction cost estimates for several possible renovation projects including Lawson Early Childhood School's kitchen addition, Eddins Elementary School's AC unit replacement and interior refresh, Walker Elementary School's AC unit replacement and interior refresh as well as football turf installation at McKinney Boyd High School.

McKinney Planning and Zoning Commission to talk storage facility


The McKinney Planning and Zoning Commission will meet Tuesday night at 6 p.m. at McKinney City Hall, 222 N. Tennessee St., McKinney. This week's agenda includes a request for a specific use permit for a daycare and another for a mini-storage facility. A couple of rezoning requests are also on the agenda including one that would allow for multi-family and commercial uses at the northwest corner of SH 121 and Alma Drive. For more info click here.
