The Medical Center of Plano’s first satellite campus in Frisco focuses on women’s health care in Frisco and surrounding communities.

The idea behind the satellite campus called Woman’s Place is to provide health care for women in any life stage, said Janet Kirksey, Women’s Health-Outreach director for The Medical Center of Plano.

Most of Woman’s Place’s services focus on obstetrics, gynecology, and maternal and fetal medicine.

The 3,000-square-foot facility opened in July at 9255 Dallas Parkway, Ste. 120.

The facility held an open house on its opening day.

Kirksey said many female patients at The Medical Center of Plano are traveling from communities near Frisco, as far north as Prosper and Celina.

“[Woman’s Place] provides a convenient location for them,” she said. “In addition, we are able to attract some new patients who can come out here just for general care.”

Woman’s Place plans to expand its services in the near future. The facility will offer bariatric services at the beginning of November and internal medicine at the beginning of December.

Cardiology services are expected to begin sometime after the beginning of the year, Kirksey said.
